Wealthsimple Kids and Teens Authorized User Agreement — Authorized User Appointment

The Trustee has invited you to help manage this account for the child as an Authorized User. The child is the beneficial owner of the funds, and the Trustee remains the account's legal owner and trustee. You confirm you're an existing Wealthsimple client with an open Wealthsimple chequing account (individual or joint). By accepting, you agree to the Wealthsimple Kids and Teens Chequing Account User Agreement and Wealthsimple Kids and Teens Prepaid Cardholder Agreement ("Account Agreements") as they apply to an Authorized User, including the parts on authorized users, prohibited use, system security, and keeping the card and PIN safe.

You acknowledge that:

  • you act only as the Trustee's delegate. You are not a trustee, and you have no interest in the trust property or the account;

  • you are not the cardholder of record for any prepaid card. The Trustee remains the account owner under the Cardholder Agreement;

  • you will keep the card, PIN, and any passwords safe, won't share the PIN with anyone except the Trustee or the child, and will tell Wealthsimple right away (and lock the card if you can) if the card, PIN, or your credentials are lost, stolen, or may be compromised;

  • you can move money only between this account and an account you hold yourself, individually or jointly, and any money moved out must be for the child's benefit as the Account Agreements require;

  • you cannot close the account, cancel a prepaid card, file a complaint under the Cardholder Agreement, add, change, or remove an Authorized User, or replace the Trustee; and

  • you can step down as Authorized User at any time by telling Wealthsimple.
