This chart shows the impact of compounding - actual returns will be different. We've assumed markets will go up by an average of 6.5% per year, portfolio allocation stays the same, income is reinvested, and monthly contributions are maintained. Wealthsimple charges a 0.7% management fee (including VAT) and the funds charge about 0.2%, while a traditional advisor typically charges 2.56%. We used the current NS&I Direct Cash ISA rate of 0.75% to calculate a rate of return for savings accounts. The projections do not include the effects of tax on investment income or tax on capital gains.
